Paris paris !
Hi friends, welcome back! In this post I will share my Paris perfume store tips and experiences plus other things you must see. I hope you guys enjoy this post as much as I did writing it.
Paris is an amazing city with a lot to discover. Especially if you like good food, wines, cheeses and … fragrances! Me and my husband took 3 full days to wander around and visit the places we saved in Google maps or that others recommended to us. Please leave your tips in the comment section so we can help each other!
We stayed in Hotel Marais Bastille, a very simple but clean hotel, 15 minutes by metro from Gare du Nord. We had a clean room with an amazing bed, a balcony and a bath + a great French breakfast. Very friendly staff, and not expensive. Highly recommend. If you are rich book a sleep-over at The Ritz. (Still on my bucket list).

Perfume stores in Paris I visited
Let’s start with the perfume stores I visited in Paris. I have saved some on Google maps before we left but believe me… Paris is huge. There are so many perfume stores or places where you can buy fragrances … it’s crazy. So here is a list of the stores I visited and recommend. But I am sure there is a lot more to discover. Not even 3 days is enough to fully see the city of lights.
34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, 75005 Paris
The “original” store. I always wanted to visit this place. Now I finally did and I was not disappointed . A very small and unique store with friendly staff. The store really fits the whole brand and feels like a warm living room. We bought ourself a candle. I'm burning it while writing this blogpost and the scent is amazing … also my husband bought me the Philosykos rollerball as a gift on our last day. A beautiful fig based fragrance. The store is very small and popular so I highly recommend going before closing time.
17 Rue des Francs Bourgeois, 75004 Paris
Pretty store with all the fragrances of the brand. We smelled their latest creation Pacific Lime but it really reminded me of Dolce & Gabanna 3 l’imperatrice (I already own). We spend some time in the store smelling some fragrances…but nothing really impressed me that much. The lady was very helpful and friendly but she was a little bit too pushy.
51 Rue des Francs Bourgeois, 75004 Paris
The store we visited was kind of weird. We had a very awkward conversation with the sales person and the store was a mix of clothes and fragrances. The perfumes did not stood out for me, but it’s worth the visit to smell something new. Also the fragrances are affordable.
20 Rue Bachaumont, 75002 Paris
This was my best experience. Nose is a store that you MUST visit as a fragrance lover. They have a very big collection of brands and niche fragrances. The service is amazing and they offer you the “Nose experience”. This means you have to fill in some questions on an iPad like a quiz. 4 perfumes will be recommended but after that the sales person helps you with finding the perfect scent. All blindly, without seeing the bottle so you really focus on the scent and not on the marketing. A really interesting and smart concept that really works for me. Overall just great service, we spent more than one hour in that store. Also I noticed there was a bottle of “Air de panache” in the back … the scent that was created for the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson. I finally got the chance to smell it in real life! A very beautiful cologne with a lot of neroli. The lady in the store told us that Wes Anderson visited and gave the staff a bottle. It’s limited and not for sale so I’m quite lucky to have smelled this.
142 Galerie de Valois, 75001 Paris
This is “THE” Serge Lutens store. Located in a very quiet spot. The store is really beautiful, mysterious and dark. Not very welcoming to be honest. Again we felt kind of awkward but worth the visit if you love the brand and to see the interior of the store. It’s kind of difficult to find, but very close to the Louvre.
Guerlain (every single store in Paris).
We saw so many Guerlain stores but all of them are classy, with friendly staff, amazing interior, and the focus is on the exclusives and the bee-bottles.
32 Rue du Bourg Tibourg, 75004 Paris,
Really cosy and modern shop with all the fragrances of the brand. Very friendly and relaxed staff. Not in a hurry and they also make samples so you can try the scents for yourself at home or during your stay in Paris.
Comptoir Sud Pacifique
30 Rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris
Finally, I could smell these fragrances. The ones with aoud really made an impression on me. The lady was very friendly and relaxed and showed me all the fragrances of the brand. She knew a lot and was fun to listen to.
Department stores you should visit
24 Rue de Sèvres, 75007 Paris
A very high end department store with beautiful decoration. A great selection of niche brands and skincare. This store felt more welcoming than Galeries La Fayette, less hectic and more organized. Plus friendlier staff. They have a special Byredo Le Labo stand!
12 Rue des Trois Cailloux, 80000 Amiens Paris
The building is amazing. Prettiest department store I have been to. But to hectic, unfriendly staff. Way too many tourist and too warm. The building is worth seing. But it’s not a store where you come and feel welcome. A very big selection of all the luxury skincare / watches / fragrances and more.
Shu AMAZING food, great service. On the pricy side but worth the investment if you love asian food. The restaurant is very small and all the food is prepared with a smile. The chef even gave us our food himself.
Hank vegan burger A collegue of my husband said this was a good place. We went here on our first day. We love vegan food so this was a good place to start.
Cafe de Flore Iconic, expensive, but the tarte tartin is to die for.
La Duree For the macarons and the amazing interior.
